The traces of Roman remains on the Domaine de la Yole, close to the Domitian Way, attest to wine-growing and naval activity from the beginning of our era.
At the beginning of the 17th century, Maître Guiole, a lawyer from Béziers and new owner of 300 hectares of land, gave his name to the emerging estate.
Over the years, it was transformed into “Domaine l'Ayolle” on the Napoleonic land register around 1830, to become “Domaine la Yole” at the beginning of the 20th century, following an administrative error.
